The first coins that brought out in Greece date from 560 - 520 B.C.. That archaic special coin was the tetradrachm of Lysimachus in Great Alexander era. It depicts the head of Alexander the Great, with the horn of Ammon, above his ear on the obverse and inscription "ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ " (VASILEOS LYSIMAXOY) with Athena goddess, leaning on a shield decorated with a lion's head, holding the Nike goddess and sending the king's message on the reverse. There is an elephant on her knee. Circa 281 - 280 BC
