The first coins that brought out in Greece date from 560 - 520 B.C.. That archaic coin (didrachm) used in Rhodos island (Rhodes). It depicts head of Medusa on the obverse and inscription "ΡΟΔΙΟΝ" (Rodion) with a rose and a trident on the reverse. Circa 387 - 304 BC
