Greek Organic Honey in 3 different flavors

Pure for you, with antioxidant action, contributes to better health and well-being. Pure for the planet, thanks to sustainable beekeeping practices that protect nature's most valuable pollinator. The production of organic honey requires the use of organic farming methods. This means that no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are used at all. Thus, its production does not harm the environment and even serves to reduce soil and water pollution. Organic beehives collect the nectar of the flowers and the honeydew, without coming into contact with antibiotics often used in conventional beehives. Organic honey is therefore completely free of chemical residues that may be found in conventional honeys. Overall, choosing organic Greek honey helps protect the environment, promotes our health and supports the local economy. It is an excellent choice for our daily diet.

- Oak Honey: Symbeeosis Organic Oak Honey is high in its content of iron and other trace elements, and has a high phenolic load. These elements contribute to its significant antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity.

Description: Symbeeosis Organic Oak Honey is rich in polyphenols and phenolic acids, with significant antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory action. In addition, it has a very high content of iron and other trace elements. It has a particularly dark color, almost black. As a honeydew honey it sugars very slowly and remains viscous for quite a long time. Organic honey is rich in nutrients as it contains vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients that can benefit our health.

Origin: From Peloponnese. The oak tree (Quercus spp.) forms rich forests in almost all of Greece.  It was one of the sacred trees of the ancient Greeks, dedicated to Zeus because of its robustness and strength. Oak honey belongs to the category of honey produced from honeydew: honeydew is a sticky substance secreted by insects that parasitize on the bark of the oak tree, which is then collected by bees and from which they produce honey. Our beehives collect honey far away from any polluting human activity. We have chosen one of the largest and most dense forests of the Peloponnese, Foloi Forest, at the foot of Erymanthos, between Ilia and Arcadia, applying beekeeping practices that meet the highest standards of sustainable and environmentally friendly procedures.

- Fir Honey:

Description: Fir honey, like all Greek honeys, is rich in polyphenols and phenolic acids, with significant antioxidant, antimicrobial & anti-inflammatory activity. It has a low glucose content, while at the same time it is rich in trace elements such as potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron.

Origin: From Peloponnese. The colour of spruce honey varies depending on the region of origin, ranging from dark or light red to black. It has a high density which makes it very viscous. The low concentration of sugars contributes to its mild sweetness.  It has a light aroma of fir and a spicy caramel taste of mild sweetness. At Symbeeosis our spruce honey comes from the Cephalonia fir (Abies cephalonica), with hives in the mountains of Nafpaktia and Elikonas of Biotia in Central Greece, as well as in mountains of Arcadia in the Peloponnese at an altitude of 1,000 meters, where the fir tree grows and dense fir forests develop. These are isolated areas, far from any human intervention, thus ensuring the purity of the raw material.

- Erica Honey:

Description: Known as a natural “cure” for various ailments since ancient times, heather honey is gaining a growing number of fans around the world. With special antioxidant and tonic properties, it benefits the health of the body in many ways. Thanks to its trace elements and high pollen content, it is a food of high biological value.

Origin: From Cyclades. Our heather honey beehives are located in the mountains of the Cycladic islands, where the heather – a beautiful small shrub that blooms in autumn – thrives. The Cyclades, a place of unparalleled natural beauty, is a miniature of Greece, with high mountains full of gorges, small rivers, running waters and thermal springs, valleys planted with vineyards, cypresses, oaks, fruit trees and olives. All the Cycladic islands combine the arid stony landscape with lush vegetation and abundant waters, while being surrounded by the magnificent Aegean Sea. In this unique environment the heather blossoms from early autumn to late winter. Its flowers have striking colors with pink, purple and white hues, and it is an excellent bee-keeping plant. In fact, Dioscorides (the father of pharmacognosy) said that when bees visit the heather ‘Honey is worked by the great bees’.

Symbeeosis organic honeys are available in a 280gr jars made of glass that allow easy removal of the label. They can be recycled or reused as containers to store herbs, seeds and nuts, or as a pencil box.
